Edward Hartman is one of the co-founders of LegalZoom, a corporation with approximately 900 employees in the US and the UK. He has served in many key roles since starting the business in 2000, including Chief Technology Officer and President of Attorney Services. He has been named a “Global 20” mentor by Founder Institute, the world’s largest entrepreneur training program. He is a Fellow of Stanford’s Center for Legal Informatics (CodeX), and is founding Fellow of the Center for Legal Innovation at the Vermont College of Law, where he is currently writing a book on legal innovation with Professor Oliver Goodenough. In the past year, he has spoken on law and innovation at the Yale Entrepreneurial I (YEI), Yale Tech conference, Stanford FutureLaw, Stanford Law School, Notre Dame Law School, and MIT. He is a past director of the Project Management Institute (Los Angeles Chapter) and is a current board member of the Brent Shapiro Foundation.
Eddie is a proud graduate of Yale College, where he received a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Anthropology. He also received an MBA through the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania Program for Executives, where he was designated a Palmer Scholar. He is a member of the California Bar.
